I know you guys love it, and I don't want to rain on your parade, but that show drives me crazy. I now just watch it because I feel I deserve some sort of payback in answers for watching the previous seasons.

But seriously, I've just watched the first of the two episodes from last night and adding time travel to the mix just makes a ridiculously muddled show even more muddled. Almost none of that episode made any sense whatsoever.

What's weird is that so many of the parts of the show are good, but the final result ends up being less than the sum of the parts somehow. They have great character moments, but terrible character continuity, they have bits of mythology that are great, but then pull it away from you by just piling more questions on top of the existing questions just as ones patience is about to break ...

I'll carry on watching, and I hope you all continue to love it and enjoy it, but it irritates the hell out of me.

And I'm sick. I have a cold and I was all bundled up watching the damn thing. Thank God for the catch up episode before. He effs up everything...Felicity, Alias...ah well.

Time travel has been a part of the mix for a couple of seasons now, and I thought it was all pretty well done. The thing about Lost is that while they do answer some stuff, they go on to raise bigger questions. Which entirely makes sense. I never understood the complaints about it being too confusing or that they should have revealed more earlier, since that's precisely what caused Twin Peaks to go off the rails and be cancelled.

I think season 4 was one of the best TV shows airing last year, and I hope that season 5 is as good, if not better.

You say that they answer some stuff and raise even bigger questions, but frankly I just don't have a clue what is going on at all. I can't think of much that has been answered, and I don't really see what questions the show is asking anymore. It just seems to have lost all narrative altogether, and is instead an assemblage of disconnected scenes of weird shit happening.

I mean it's not like I'm too thick to get it or something, and it's hardly like I have no taste for long drawn-out serialised dramas with large ensemble casts and mind-bogglingly complicated plots as my love for The Wire proves.
