Although you are right to say that the gulags, mass murders, police states and almost total lack of personal freedom that was especially prevalent in Eastern European communist countries is totally at odds with the original spirit of communism.

A better example would be "socialism". In America it seems that this is taken to be pretty much the same thing as communism, and therefore the work of Satan. Do you remember me trying to persuade Tracy that that wasn't the case on this board a while back? That's quite odd, given that many of America's NATO allies have or have had in recent years socialist governments.

It must have been awhile ago, since Tracy's long gone. I miss her! :(

I would have loved to have been able to chat with her about the astounding way that show ended ...

I know I ramble on a bit sometimes and say stupid stuff when I've had a few but everything I say is just for fun and not meant to be taken seriously

almost finished season 1 of The Wire by the way, brilliant stuff :-)

haven't watched the first ep of Generation Kill yet but I have it on the dvr ready and waiting, I may get round to watch The Shield one day but there's so much to keep up with at the moment, Lost, BSG, The Wire, Generation Kill, my brain is almost frazzled keeping up with it all!

Just joking.

Pleased you've nearly finished season one of The Wire. You must tell me what you think ...
