Subject: I saw Martina Topley Bird in concert last night

She was absolutely stunning. Some of you may be more familiar with her as the female vocalist on the first four Tricky albums, including his seminal debut Maxinquaye -- still one of my favourite albums of all time.

I stayed up until 7am watching the election coverage. It was amazing. Go America! But the whole proposition 8 thing sucks majorly.

Andy, did you sort out what's wrong with your DVD player?

... Black Steel, the cover version of a Public Enemy song that she and Tricky did on Maxinquaye, which I think is one of the best covers ever. The YouTube video in not embeddable so you'll have to follow the link:

[> My dvd player is totally fucked up -- andypandy, 13:31:49 11/06/08 Thu [1] (161.112.232.22)

it refuses to play some dvd's properly and has no problem with others, I watched all four Saw movies last week no problem so I can't understand it, its not that they won't play, it just plays some of them in black and white

as our favourite green demon would say "go figure"!!

thinking of getting a player/recorder so I can transfer some of my recorded stuff on my cable digi box onto disk so my Dad can see all the stuff he's missed.

I'll play the vid when the bloody Dean has gone.
