I think seasons 1 and 5 are my favourites. I hate to say this in present company, but as huge a fan of Whedon as I am, Angel was never something I loved in the way I love Buffy and Firefly (and am hoping I'll love Dollhouse). I think probably the episodes that I liked the best were ones that tied into Buffy somehow -- the episodes in season 1 with Faith in them for example. I really really liked Damaged in season 5, the one about the psycho slayer. That was really good.

I loved Cordelia in Buffy, and in the first couple of seasons of Angel. But by the time they'd finished with her I just ddn't like her anymore, and although You're Welcome is a very good episode it just didn't have the impact it could have done, because it was still tied up with what a mess they'd made of Cordelia.

I didn't want to hate Cordelia but as you say it was almost impossible not to, why they ruined her character so badly is a mystery, they just went too far with the whole idea, much as I enjoyed You're Welcome I was left wanting more of the Cordy I loved.

I hope they're not messing with Dollhouse too much and it's as Joss wants it to be, the men in suits are interfering again so I've heard.

And not just because of the Andrew cameo. ;) Destiny was great as well, as was Why We Fight and Life of the Party was so much fun.

I was truly sick of Cordy in S4 and I was wary of her swan song at first but I ended up really enjoying it, it was like old times. I love that we saw Doyle again too.
