So, the bad news is: the economic downturn has hit Texperts extremely hard in terms of incoming investment and they've had to lay five of us off. There's no hard feelings, I joined with full knowledge that that is how it is with startups, and we're all still good friends. Nevertheless, I was wondering what to do next when I got a phone call from an agency I know in Paris. They want me to start a 2-3 month contract with them in Paris building an iPhone web application for UEFA! They're even putting me up for free in -- get this -- a studio apartment in Palais-Royal opposite the Louvre. I leave on Sunday. Apparently I will also be part of the team that presents to UEFA in Switzerland -- I'm not sure where, perhaps Bern or perhaps Geneva? Gabs? Are either of those anywhere near where you live?

Impressive stuff! And all happening very quickly. Still, seems to be the best time for it, you having just sold up and everything. Congratulations!

If you don't mind me asking, out of curiousity, who else got the hard conversation with Sarah?

The most surprising one was Bridget, but a CFO doesn't bring any money in.

Funnily enough, I was just wondering yesterday how Texperts were getting along these days after seeing yet another 118118 advert on TV.

I remember you saying a while back you would like to live in France and now you got your wish, good for you, what a fantastic location too, could it get any better? I bet you're glad you sold the flat now right? at least you don't have that to worry about and no rent to pay either you jammy devil! obviously you deserve it or they wouldn't have offered you such a brilliant contract but still, you must be over the moon.

Heh, with a bit of luck and good management you might even meet up with our beautiful Gabs too, lucky you!!
