His Parkinson's only gets progressively worse, and he recently had a stroke on top of that. I'm afraid that he is slowly slipping away from us. His moments of lucidity are fewer and fewer, and he is now almost completely immobile. After his stroke the doctors didn't want to let him come home again, but my mum absolutely refused. All he has left is the familiarity of his home and the comfort of his family around him, and none of us felt it was acceptable to take that away from him. We have a lot carers helping my mum pretty much from first thing in the morning until he is put to bed, and my sister helps out a lot. Unfortunately I can't do nearly as much as I used to now I have a permanent job, and especially as we've been so ball-breakingly busy. To be honest the combined stress of work, my father's health, and trying to sell my flat in Edinburgh has left me pretty exhausted.

Why did you use that? I don't think you've ever emailed me on it before, but you definitely have emailed me on my usual email address.
