Yes, your memory serves you well. My grandfather was very active in Kevelson and unfortunately, I have heard the synagogue closed because of lack of congregation. I too left Canarsie in 1971 and had returned as recent as two years ago so that I could see the neighborhood. It has really changes not for the better I have just rturnd from Portugal were I visited the orthodox synagogue in Lisbin. Last year they almost closed their doors but they were able through donations stay open,increase in congregational size (they now have a web site)and make the badly neded repairs to the physical structure. It had been built in 1912. I live in Atlanta,Georgia since 1977. It is a lovely city that is growing very quickly. The jewish population is very active and the opulation in general is very friendly.
Where are you living now. I do remember you but would appreciate any helpful information. I also believe I remember your family. Warmest Regards, I am
