In 1986 the unthinkable happened, I was told we were moving away from the only home I had ever known on E 99th St between K & L in Canarsie. Canarsie had been my home and now I was being taken away! Oh! The Humanity!
Things were changing around the homefront even then and my poor mother saw me hanging out on street corners, dating every Bayview Boy there was (didn't EVERYBODY go out with Michael Alejandro?) and just plain old being the naughty little girl I knew I was on the inside!.
All those years at Holy Family sure paid off though I will never forget the class of 1986. The reunion that never happened or did it? Being way out here in the Arizona heat sometimes dulls the senses.
*sigh* The memories.
If anyone lived on 99th ST between K&L and hung out by Louie's ( later known as 5Q's)on 98th email me! If you went to Holy Family Scholl and graduated in 85, 86 or 87 email me too!
What I would do to be able to play handball like I used to..
