I had been searching for Joi Meltzer (She spelled her name like this in bildersee) for the past ten years. I had given up and then just happened to see this post. I idolized her in JHS and hung around with her. I thouht she was so amazing and looked up to her....she struck me as unhappy and depressed and never saw how awesome she was. I remember how stylish she dressed and when she went to modeling school in 8th grade. I confided in her a great deal when we shared lunch in the cafeteria. Alan, her closest buddy was my first boyfriend and I have cute letters from him from second grade when we attended the same day camp. I read about his death years ago but this news about Joi is such a shock. I, too, feel a strong need for closure and would appreciate any information about when she died and how she lived from graduation until her death...where she lived. Anything would be helpful.
