I lived in Starrett City for over 20 years and I'm still living there now. Let me tell you the facts. Occasionally there are pissy stairwells, but the janitors do a great job in maintaining the buildings so the urine is usually mopped away within a day or two. Starrett City has been declining since the early 90's. There are some bad folks that hang in the lobby sometimes and they are usually teens who have no supervision. I still think this is the safest place to live in East Brooklyn, but that's not saying much. I would love to move out one day.
