I lived in Starrett in 77-79. I lived in F4. I was happy living there and my dad worked there as maintenence. I heard it has REALLY gone down hill, but then other pages I read it went down and has come back up. I guess we were there when it was relatively new and it was still a good place to be. The playgrounds and pool center. My dad was on the Tigers Baseball team they had there. I have pictures from the Big Apple parade in 1979, might have been 78. I have pics of the baseball team, the playground, even my classmates at the pre-school. I lost many pics. I specifically remember the front door to the apartment was a bright blue metal door. The things that stand out. I remember the shopping center, and we used to go and buy the big sidewalk chalk. Back then my 10 year old brother could walk my little 5-year-old self around. I suppose that couldn't happen now. But everyone knew up as the maintenence guy supervisor's kids. One day I will get back to NY and go visit. Lasst time I was there me and my dad went in 1988. Was getting a little yucky then. Bye all, good to find this message board.
