(He pursed his lips as he thought about that.. it would be nice to know english, though he had never really thought about learning the language before. He had always gotten by and he planned on getting back to scotland as soon as he could manage to take care of loose ties in the states. Still, the offer to teach him had come from her without any prompting and was so genuine and made her look so much more normal that he felt it would just be downright awful if he were to refuse her attempt to reach out to him.. that and if it meant sitting in front of her and looking at those exquisitely unique eyes for a good reason, who was he to complain?) If you want to teach an old dog a new trick, you can sure try. (He said with a soft laugh, revealing a bit more of his own normal side.. he tended to not take much of life seriously - at least not usually. Laughing and kidding around were normal to him, he was a sarcastic person and quick witted to a fault, but with all the lunacy that had been going on over the past few months with his father jumping headlong into the loony bin, he just hadn't felt much like smiling. When she got to her feet, he stood as well, it was just habit and showed respect to a woman to stand at the table for her. When she left the room, he watched her, and had she not looked so frail he probably would have just poured a glass of scotch and gone into the living room and let her take care of the cleaning of the meal he had provided.. but he couldn't just stand there and let her hurt herself, so he cleared his throat.) Don't worry about the dishes.. I will call up roomservice. (He said softly, walking over to where she was standing near the sink and laying a hand on her arm.) I'll start a fire and we can sit in the living room and relax. (He murmured, not realizing that his hand had traveled down her arm in a soothing gesture that was unlike him.. deeply protective and at the same time caring.)
