(He carried the contented look of a man in love well, it brightened his eyes and defined the soft laugh lines that graced his handsome features, it made him look content, calm and at one with everything around him as he held her and quietly shared his stories with her. He had told her all about meeting Kyrian and how the two of them had embarked on a long game of one-upmanship before he had saved the other man's life in Kosovo, and they had become close friends.. he had told her all of their expliots and shared his laughter over Kyrian's many debacled romances that were always one-sided and often involved Remy shoving the girl out the door in the morning, thinking she was in love while Kyrian was showering.) I had a feeling when I met that guy that he and Brooke would be happy together.. he just seems like the type to bring out the good in someone. (He rarely chalked his intuition up to what it was, preferred to pretend his condition didn't exist. Pressing a kiss to her temple, he smiled as she talked about the baby.. hoping someday to see her. He liked how the talk lit her eyes and made her smile positively glow with happiness.. he wanted to give that kind of happiness to her too.) I'll have to head out there when I get some leave. (He hadn't really talked to her about 'after'.. but he knew eventually they would have to.)

(He said though he was laughing lightly, he didn't want to jar her shoulder and that spot made him jump sometimes. He smirked at the memory of Josh, shaking his head a bit.) I had a feeling he was pulling something.. he was a little too smug about getting the cabin for us instead of having us sleep up at the house. (He released her hand though he kept his own covering the spot on his side. He liked seeing her let loose with him again, so different from the girl he had met up with the first day of the convention.) I might have done it eventually.. (He countered, feigning hurt.)
