When she spoke, his eyes lifted to her and he found himself finally registering the responses she had had to him. He didn't like the bubble of guilt he felt, and he would have acted childishly and lashed out had he not been so concerned with the hurt she must have felt and the desire he had to be the one to undo it.) When I first saw you, I felt the same way all the other men did, even that first night in the hottub. It's awful hard not to see how gorgeous you are.
