In reply to: Remy 's message, "
I treated you bad, you bruised my face
Couldn't love you more, you've got a beautiful taste

Don't let the days go by
Could've been easier on you
I couldn't change though I wanted to..

She had pushed all thoughts of him away from her mind as she walked into the convention hall and went up the steps to the stage, legs looking a mile long in the skirt she had on. She headed behind the curtain to the stage, setting her stuff down and running a hand through her hair, letting out a soft breath. She felt ill to her stomach but she just blamed it on nerves, her brow furrowed as she took out her notes and went over them quickly. Before she felt she was ready, the MC was announcing her and the crowd was clapping wildly and she just strode out there. Her demeanor gave no hint to her nervousness or the deepset sadness she was feeling within her. She was wearing a hundered watt smile and opened her speech by breaking the ice with some humor, well placed winks and setting the crowd at ease. She knew there were some military officials there who were none to pleased with her campaign but there was always going to be opposition. After breaking the ice she slipped into her persuausive speech, outlining all the consequences that his new naval base that was supposedly going to be comparable to Annapolis if not better would bring to the surrounding area. She ended the speech by asking if the Military was here to serve the people or harm the people and that is was the people's responsibility to remind the Navy what their place really was. With the sound of the applause of her supporters and those she had swayed in her ears, she thanked everyone, flashed that award winning smile for the camera's and then turned to head off the stage. As soon as she was off though, she picked up her briefcase, not stopping to chat with anyone or hear what a good job she did. She just headed straight for the exit, going outside and lighting up a cigarette, leaning her head back against the wall as she took in deep gulping breaths, trying not to let tears fall from her dark green eyes.
