I just wanted to let you know - those that I've discussed this with before - the following. All else need to quit reading now because I know you think I'm kooky.
The "ghost" in my dreams (not really reoccuring) about my house that I've never really seen - she's the one trying to guide me. Her name is Mary. I don't recognize her. Anyhow, she made this perfectly clear Monday night. She woke me up because she wanted me to know something. And funny enough, it's not really something important, but something I just need to keep my eye on. She's been there for a long time - I don't know her - though she knows me really well - I just didn't put 2 and 2 together. She can be pretty aggressive and scary, but she has my interests in mind. It's weird. I don't have any ancestors named Mary. I don't know who she is or where she comes from.
Anyhow - I just wanted to update you who helped me out last time (or tried).

I don't speak with her. And as far as I can remember, she's only spoken directly to me once. In fact, Monday night, she woke me up with a nightmare. And then within 15 minutes something happened and I understood in a moment of clarity that she woke me up on purpose and wanted me to know something and that it had been her doing this all along. Weird.

This thread should have been called GhostDreams/Guidance/Reasurance.
The ghost in your house doesn't need to be related to you. She was there before you and she looks after the people who are living there. That's just my theory.

Clarify:
No. I don't mean a ghost in my physical house.
I posted once a long time ago about the house I dream about all the time. It's always the same house, though I've never really been there. Anyhow - in that house there's a ghost. She is Mary.
Doesn't really clarify, does it - just adds another layer. But she's not with my house. She's with me.

hmm. I appologize for not being sure (as I have said before I get confused with names not attached to faces) but you Lump are the woman with the "hauntings" right? And we talked about putting water out, right? If so, does this post relate at all to that stuff?
I don't recall having read anything about a house you go to in your dreams.
But, I have a similar place that I **had** been going to ... but that was not a pleasant place and I stopped going there (with some help ;).

Interesting that her name is Mary, Jes. I don't think she is necessarily related to your house either. I think she is representative of the feminine, the crone even. Maybe that house you keep seeing isn't a physical structure at all, but represesentative of home, your spiritual home, and she's been trying to lead you there all this time. She knows you well, and I don't know exactly what she showed you this time, but from your recent posts regarding things with Roy, I can guess she is probably aware of your state of mind and has revealed herself to you now for that extra support.

I think Leo figured it out, especially about her representing your spiritual home. I couldn't think of anything when you said the house was in your dream and not your actual home. Leo nailed it IMO. I also think home represents stability and comfort.
** I always have dreams about moving into a house with several bathrooms, usually luxurious with jacuzzi tubs.

Im - yes. I was the one who put out the water and then everything got too quiet. And yes, this is a extension of that thread...but I didn't want to pull it up again. I just thought it'd be an interesting follow through.
Leo- I see what you're saying. When I first started really paying attention to those dreams I thought maybe she represented my bitch. Like my inner bitch - one that maybe I suppress. If you remember, the first really vivid dream I had about this (I posted), I was at a long dining table with a bunch of people who were afraid of her and told me to stay away from her, but I was curious. One dream in particular stands out - I was jumping down the stairs 2 at a time like a kid and she yelled at me to stop that. That was it! LOL! And in this one, I was sitting in a van outside THE house with my "daughter" (who was a female Nate - but don't tell him that! LOL!). I looked at her and said "Maybe we should just burn it down?" and then Mary possessed her and she said something really creepy. I woke up - you know I hate the whole idea of possession - and then 15 minutes later I understood why she wanted to wake me up.
It could be interpretted all sorts of ways. She could just represent my bitchier side and it's really my intuition that's working overtime almost coincidentally. It could all just be totally coincidental. She could be someone guiding me. She could be someone guiding me in disguise. She could be a ghost. Maybe she's Cupid and she'd trying to put the smack down or get her arrows back. She could be anything.
But I feel that she is responsible for my hearing Roy say things that I shouldn't have been able to hear. Most of the time he's been in the basement shooting pool - and you can hear that people are talking down there, but you can't really hear what they're saying. BUT one time he wasn't even home. It was his voice though and he said it. I'm not sure if that wipes out the idea that she's maybe my subconcious or linked to me at all. If I had that sort of ability I'd use it all the time - I don't think it comes from me.

Leo ... interesting reply. I would tend to associate the name Mary with the Mother aspect though (which also seems to fit her described behavior).

... but thinking more ... if this were actually an aspect of the Goddess coming through to her, she would clearly be able to distinguish Her from a ghost or the like. Perhaps the entity chose to be known as Mary to assist with the message she was trying to get through.

Iym - You know - I never thought of Mary that way. She kinda looks like my own Mom too. And my Mom is stand-offish like she is. Maybe she's imitating my Mom.
No - in the dream though, she's always been a ghost (not that that's what she is). She swirled around people the first one I can remember and made the ground shake. She swirled down the stairs to yell at me. And this last one, I can't remember why I wanted to burn down the house, but I think it was an Amityville type thing where she was haunting it.
And she's always in the house (in my dreams - it's kind of a giant version of a craftsman - like a giant anarchy sign from the side) but she's not always in the same place in the house. This last time she was in the basement. The first one (that I remember) she was in the attic.
And it always has to do with Roy! hmmm.

i have heard that if a woman dreams of a house it is supposed to represent her body. not sure i buy that one. i have recurring dream houses too, and i dont' think those dreams are bodily at all. but it has been said so i thought i'd throw it out there.
have you ever thought this might be a house in a past life? or a house you may visit in the future? it seems weird that these places could just come out of nowhere.
maybe mary is your sidekick?
my dream houses are interesting and have an ominous feel about them, mysterious like they hold something hidden. and the dreams are always borderline nightmares.
last night i dreamt very vividly for the hour and a half that i actually slept straight through, about telling off my landlord. it was so vivid and coherent and it was about him not putting in the cable yet. in real life that is an issue i need to address with him because it has been months and it says on the ad that all rooms have cable and internet. mine is the only one that doesn't. in the dream he said oh i'll get around to it in the next few months and i said if he didn't have it done by april (it is almost done btw, like they only have to just finish it off) i would withhold some of my rent. makes sense b/c i really am pissed about it, and the other night my roommate and i tried to hook up cable for me from AJ's old room, which only sort of works and that kinda got me riled up about it again. i usually dream pretty vivly when i'm with him.
do you still have the bowl out, btw?

Nope. I put it away after everything got quiet.
My house dreams are always borderline nightmares too - or they should be anyway - but I'm never really afraid. But it's not dark and eerie - in fact one room (but I don't remember which one) is painted true GREEN with woodwork.

Iym - I don't associate the name Mary with the mother anymore, or any strictly religious connotation. To me it has almost become a universal goddess name. I'm not so sure one can distinguish so easily between entities (ghosts, goddesses). I know for years I thought a visitation I had as a child was a ghost, an ancestor protecting me perhaps. Once I did some reading, I believed she was a manifestation of the feminine. But the mother obviously plays a role in that, SHE being the protector of all things.

Leo-
"Mary" is definitely a universal goddess name in this day in age, but when you said "crone", that implies that you are breaking it down into one of three aspects (e.g. Maiden-Mother-Crone), and if so, I disagree with your choice. Of the Ma-Mo-Cr aspects, the energy associated with the name "Mary" is predominantly of the Mother. I'm not sure how you could argue otherwise. "Mary" was elevated to Goddess in the context of christianity and the christians see her as the Mother of Jesus. The virginial aspect would almost lean her toward Maiden in anything.
**Of course** there are exceptions ... an aspect that you become familiar with may come to you in different forms at different times for different reasons.
And I would have also disagree that a visit from Deity could be misinterpreted as anything but. The awsome presence of deity makes it completely obvious. Angels may throw you as they may feel like Deity, but a visitation from Deity would be much more intense: Life changing, path altering, "religion inspiring" experiences.

my house dreams don't look eerie, though they usually are somewhat dark, like there are no lights on and its' overcast outside. they more FEEL eerie. sometimes nothing bad even really happens, it's just this ominous feeling in the air. that's why i wonder about past lives sometimes. have you ever felt like you had a past life?

Yes, but I don't know that I believe. Sometimes you know things you shouldn't or something feels "right" when you have no idea why. I think it's easily confused with intuition (and we are so quick to toss intuition aside so often). I think that we come back again and again as humans is definately arguable. Or we feel sometimes like we've already done something or that something has happened before. I think - like Sears - "It's all inside." and we have been beaten down when it comes to looking inside. Especially - we have been taught for centuries not to totally trust ourselves or our instincts.
