It has been a tough but rewarding year. Arriving home today came with mixed feelings. During the drive home, all I could think of was the people I was leaving behind in Windsor. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be home but a part of me is still in Windsor.

My year was an incredible experience, almost dreamlike. I was happy making Team Ontario Under 17 because it was a chance to represent Windsor at a national level. Scoring my first goal for Windsor was exciting and I remember it quite clearly. Yes, I made many mistakes during the year and I wish I can turn the clock back, but I can't. I learned a lot and still have a lot to learn. Windsor is where I want to develop, perfect my game and one day soon contribute to a Memorial Cup championship.

I wish to extend many thanks to those who helped me through my underage year. The adjustment was huge. The schedule was tough and everyday brought something new. The fans were electric and the coaching staff extended me every opportunity. I was lucky to have been given that opportunity. I have every intention of returning to Windsor next season with my game, mind and body at a new level. The adjustment period is over and my rookie days are part of the past. I am excited for what the future of the Windsor Spitfires has in store. The new ownership as well as the coaches are kind, knowledgeable and eager to produce a contender. I am very lucky to be a part of this team and the City of Windsor. I thank you all for this 1st year experience.

As a team, we may have lost more than an acceptable number of games, but we tried hard. With every loss, there was a lesson learned. If we all think back over the last 6 months, there were many regrets and many happy moments. We all tried our best. We now know we need to try even harder. We must take the experience of this past season to strengthen our future.

All my teammates are a great bunch of guys and very special. I'm sure the new crop of rookies will be no different. In closing however, I would just like to say so long to one player in particular. Scott Todd was truly an inspiration. His fearless play and humour will be remembered. In my eyes he was both a leader and a protector. Good luck to Scott and I'll see the rest you in training camp.
