Windsor) The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce the Buffalo Sabres selected Spitfire defenseman Mike Weber in the 2nd Round, 57th Overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft conducted yesterday in Vancouver. This past year, Weber scored 5 goals and 26 points while adding 181 penalty minutes for the Spitfires.

Windsor Spitfires Team President and Head Coach Bob Boughner offered his thoughts on Weber’s selection; "what struck me the most was seeing Mike's reaction after he was drafted. The pride and excitement displayed by Mike was amazing to see. Mike works extremely hard on and off the ice and this could not have happened to a better kid."

As a side note Mike will return to the team next year!!
