Have you seen any good films recently? purchase eldepryl To take his proof further, and to remove this latitude variable from the experiment, Foucalt later substituted a gyroscope - a spinning top which maintains its orientation – for his pendulum. He showed that the spinning rotor of the gyroscope moved relative to the earth, but stayed in a fixed position relative to the stars. After one full day it would always return to its original position, regardless of where on earth the experiment took place. That experiment is perhaps cleaner and tidier, but doesn't have the same dramatic appeal as a 100ft pendulum.
