I think any answers that come forward will be pretty individual. Some folks may have some pounds to shed, others might be working on conditioning/endurance, and others might not need to do much.

I would suggest hiking with your pack and period socks and shoes to get your feet and shoulders set for what lies ahead.

The old drinking adage that I abide by is "it's a marathon, not a sprint," and that advice is sound for this event. We need people that will be there at the end so be sure you're up for four days of it!
