Since youíre going to be on National Forest property, you wonít be digging any holes so donít worry about shoveling. You also wonít be chopping down any standing timber. If the only firewood you collect from the ground is of a size that can be broken by hand, foot, across the knee, or between two trees, youíve eliminated the need for any axe work, as well (not to mention EMT services).
