With a big grin to Stumbling Bear:

The Census records for Nachidotches Parrish record perzactly two Indians living there at the start of the war. It does not say what tribe.

Not being a true stitch counter, I did not get real picky on this one, and recruited from the available volunteers (2) and thus got 2 Indians--one Apache/Aprapaho, the other a Creek/Cherokee/Pacific Islander (don't ask).

My own Cherokee background is too dilute to show much, so I figure I can't really claim it for purposes of this event. I do get my mean streak from that line though--at least that's what Aunt Bub claims, and she's the last generation with the look. Darling Daughter is courting back into the line and I figure all hell will break loose with any children. We may have bred out blonde, but the mean streak is still dominate.

I am glad to know that the military rolls for the units represented give similar ethinic breakdowns, and the commanders have been equally meticulous in recruiting folks of the proper ethnic backgrounds for this event.

Kind Regards,

Mrs. Lawson
