I agree with Danny. You want to know what motivates a soldier or a Marine to keep going? It is his comrades. His friends. He might have entered the military for reason having nothing to do with that, but what matters to him once the parades are over and the fighting stars are his comrades. I know this was true with me in Nam. I figure it is true for those fighting now. I feel it was true in the Civil War or with the Roman Legions. You mess with my friends, you mess with all of us. It is loyality. It is honor. For those that don't grasp this, you never will no matter how many books you read or write.
