I have no idea if this is in the area, but years ago on a ride back from Port Hudson, my mom and I ( I was really a young'ne back then)stopped at a cafeteria called Dorothy's. Reminds me alot of a joint in Dallas called Mamma's Daughters. Basically really good greasey home cooking. If you ever are in Dallas for an extended period of time, hit it up and the original El Fenix as well. Take it easy.
