Silas is carrying my gear, so I am not worried about that. And if Doug starts cutting up and singing Dog Around, I will just slip off somewhere to sleep. Being a civilian has its perks. Besides, there is always the wagon for the guide to ride in. I will be in shape for the march but I am not going to whine about others getting into tip top shape or what they should eat or not eat. Damn fellows, you are going to march for four days and carrying stuff on your back so being fit for such should be a no brainer. There are no bears or tigers in Kisatchie so no worry there either.
