Leah Livingston, a communications and leadership major from Miami, Fla., was crowned Miss Troy University 2016 on Saturday during the 45th annual pageant on the Troy Campus.

Ten students competed for the crown during the pageant, which was held in the Claudia Crosby Theater. Contestants were judged on a private interview, an on-stage question, swimsuit, talent and evening gown.

Livingston also won the Fitness Award and the Leslie Holley Talent Award for her rendition of “How Great Thou Art.”

She was crowned by SGA President Heath Barton and Miss Troy University 2015 Hannah McDonald.

Also receiving honors were: first runner-up Carlie Spencer, a mathematics major from Montgomery; second runner-up Lacey Markus, Lacey Marcus, an elementary education major from Alabaster; third runner-up and Miss Congeniality Caylee Sanders, an English language arts major from Goshen; and fourth runner-up Angelene Kendall, a dance major from Hershey, Pa. Jayln Harrison, a psychology major from Bainbridge, Ga., garnered the People’s Choice Award.
