Per Pageant Chris on Twitter, Meg wore her state gown for EG. Smart move. That gown was gorgeous!

This was the best kept secret in Alabama. Now I know why they were so hush-hush. Love it.

Again, a really smart move by Meg. Loved that gown and it was one of the better ones.

At visitation last night in AC everyone from Alabama was talking about Meg's gown. Meg loved it. Ann Northington loved it. Nan loved it. Why change an awesome gown? Ann told her to wear it at Miss America and she would make her gowns for the other nights and a parade costume like she wanted.

Why? Meg, Ann and Nan planned this. Totally different situation.

My question is why was Alexa "wrong" for wearing a gown of her choosing. Wasn't she 23-24 years old? And wasn't she ultimately 2nd runner up? Maybe she was ahead of her time by wearing what she wanted but if Miss America is supposed to be a forward thinking woman then it's expected that she chooses what she wears. Especially after being called as top 10 with title well within her sights.

Totally different when you have someone make you a gown you help design, tell them and everyone it is perfect, gown of your dreams and then they all find out you were never planning to wear it.

Could it be possible that she simply changed her mind?

Well that means the future Miss Alabama's will have the right to keep their state gowns. They can't deny them the same right that Meg was given because that is called discrimination right? That said, I feel sorry for Caitlin, Chandler, ALB and others who had to wear Ann's dated creations. So from this day forward girls wear a gown to Miss Alabama that you can see yourself wearing on the Miss America stage. Take heed Briana, Jessica, Haley and others. This is a huge change! I'm so happy for Meg. The gown was a perfect fit.

Caitlyn picked her Tony Bowls gown, she didn't wear an Ann dress. Glad Nan has given girls different options now, but I think it is more because Ann is older, her gowns aren't the same anymore. Regardless, wearing a wardrobe (and I mean an entire wardrobe) not approved by the state board is not a good move. That is what Alexa did, it wasn't one dress and it was totally done in a secret, deceptive manner. That is what was bad about it.

Don't we all dress ourselves "in secret"? Alexa was 2nd runner up to Miss America! She was ahead of her time.

I feel Nan knows that Meg stood her ground I'm sure. Good for her.
