"Mars Attacks the World" (1938) is movie length version of the 15 Chapter serial Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars. The movie is about 1hr,20min long or so. It holds up pretty well for a sci fi oldie from yesteryear. The story line makes sense despite much editing. Some things, characters we don't even see. Ming's fire walk, Toran, and a lot of Forest kingdom "stuff" was cut.

They might have added another 15-20minutes onto the movie, since there were some quick changes in some areas...eg, being held in clay caves, then a quick switch to Forest kingdom death cell, then quickly to Ming's palace WOW! All in a brief time period. I also noticed my helmet being worn by an Airdrome officer. Seems easier to spot certain details when things are fast paced. (I may complain though to the millinery helmet chief..since I thought this was an exclusive for Officer Torch) But, overall, I'll give it thumbs up. Most of the important elements were there; though it made me wanting more...bet another 20 minutes would've helped, but it was pretty decent nevertheless. A newcomer to FG would likely follow the story without difficulty and be entertained.
