Challenge to Prince Barin
RE: Barin's comments about "'Cabbage Head' people" who appear in Azura's throne room ('38 Mars serial), the leader of the trio (rumor has it his name is Val) is highly insulted at being called a "Cabbage Head" and seeks vengence, in some form, perhaps a duel with who he now calls "Borehead Barin." (This I presume because Prince Barin is noted for boring thru a claycave wall and landing on this helmeted head, I guess.) In fact, Prince Val wondered if Barin might ultimately dis them as being named...."Corned Beef, And, Cabbage" perhaps.
Turns out, these guys are said to be from the Valles Marineris (aka Mariner Valleys) part of Mars, named after Mariner 9 after the earthlings Mars orbiter of 1971-72. This appeared in Mongonian Times awhile ago in the Time Traveler section. (It may be in your Wikipedia....subject, Mars.)
Barin, these aliens are Martians, but from a different area where Queen Azura banishes those she dislikes, but they live in cave-like dwellings of an upscale nature, moreso like in the Martian Chronicles. Seems you've started trouble...and the several year truce we've enjoyed may be ending. They are calling for some kind of tournament with you, and its not ping pong, darts, or racing.
I am giving you this advance notice for old times sake. Admittedly, I also saw them numerous times in the Mars serial, and similar beings who rode the light beam from Mars to Earth in Chapter 1. Figured, being Martians and all that, they simply were able to morph into different creatures...but, apparently, we as Mongonians/earthlings were able to visualize them as us, more or less. Who knows, maybe mind control.
In any case, they are looking for not only apologies, but your acceptance of ....a tournament. Emperor Ming is suggesting they possibly give you a tough quiz, followed by who knows what... but we'll see. So, what say you Barin. They demand a response.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!! This will make anyone day's brighten up more than box of Ming's laundry detergent that contains all of the chemicals (and poisons) that make Ming's detergent so good for the Cabbage Head's attire and perhaps they won't get caught peddling the materials to Arborian customs en route to the palace!
PS: They can always try the Forest Kingdom and the Clay Caves as backup measures! LOL!

I accept your challenge and will meet you in the Arena of Death at the stroke of midnight at the entrance in the tunnel by the Dragon of Death.
My mission for Flash requires that I make this posting in haste but I will reply with a lengthier message shortly.
Prepare yourself for battle!
Signed
The Real Ruler of Mongo, Prince Barin

Re: Challenge to Prince Barin -- Officer Torch, 08:29:26 11/14/08 Fri [1]
Barin...Emperor Ming has ordered some form of (yet to be determined type of) quiz based on the first encounter serial of the Earthlings with Mongonians (1936). This serial includes: me...Officer Torch, in full armor, you Barin...in Roman like garb, Aura...your eventual spouse, Thun, Vultan, and others from that First Serial. Maximum audience participation is expected. If you, our readers/members, have any comments, suggestions, please post here. Ming has indicated this is to be a good, clean fun event. Heh, heh.

Having recently watched FG '36, I must say that a worthier pair of opponents would be difficult to find.
However, should either of you wish to back out, I hear Zarkov has an invisibility machine, lol!

No Tim...we do NOT back out....it is not the honorable thing to do, I understand we will have some form of quiz, for sure, and you have been invited, hmmm.....maybe ordered, to join in. But, it will be on the '36 serial only, and you have time to study....rumor has it that quiz won't likely be until after Thanksgiving Day on earth. So, you've time. This is open to all readers/members of this forum, and if we can make it an interactive thing, so much the better. It's really a fun thing, and good, clean humor is a must. Ok pal? You in?

Sure, I am in, Officer Torch. Although as a newbie I may be way out of my league with you three heavyweights!
Then again, when they threw Flash into The Arena for the first time, didn't he take down three mankillers? Could history repeat? Heh!

Re: Challenge to Prince Barin -- Officer Torch, 11:33:29 11/19/08 Wed [1]
Heh, heh.....not to worry Tim, the gocko enjoys "newbies"....er, umm...I meant....Thun, yeah..that's the ticket. Prince Thun is rumored to offer some help should you need it. He did say to have patience though, for should you call him, it might take awhile for him to rescue....I mean to help you, since his gyro ships are acting up with excessive wobble, I presume owing to the changes in weather.
Oh, a trivia point FYI, possibly quiz material. When Thun first meets Flash, what seems kind of peculiar when they swordfight? Answer in a couple of days...it's kind of a question that might (or would) be given. (So, keep that DVD in working order, and make sure the Fast Forward, Reverse, and Pause buttons on the remote are in good working order.)
