There are so many priceless scenes with the two ladies. To name one would be an injustice.

I always liked the touching conversation between Flash and Dale the night before Flash is to announce the choice for his bride. It's completely different from the rest of the adventure, putting an intimate view of the couple on the screen.

Aura's threat to Flash with the torch shows the depths of her affection but also simultaneously the desperation she feels at the prospect of losing her true love.

Neither FG sequel addresses anything of this nature since Dale's love for Flash is well established in the subsequent adventures.

Flash, under the influence of the drops of forgetfulness, is with Dale and Aura. Flash tells Dale that he does not know who she is, then asks Aura, "Is this someone I should know?" The lying Aura flatly replies, "No."

This memorable exchange shows that Aura has absolutely no mercy for Dale, and will stop at nothing in her pursuit of Flash.

We see these lusting moments right from Chap 1 in FG '36. On Aura's first appearance, one can see her adoration for Flash. (At about the same time, one can see Ming's plans for Dale.)

Near end of Chap 1, Aura joins the victorious Flash in the Arena (a caged area in front of Ming's throne). Aura says he (FG) has earned the right to live, after Ming further threatens using "The Pit." Aura shoots guard who pulls lever down as he collapses opening a trap door. FG and Aura fall into the pit...making this the first cliffhanger of the serial.

Subsequent serials ...'38, 40 were more conservative likely owing to the Hays Act of the mid Thirties. Perhaps this '36 FGs serial format allowed it, or transitional phase issues.

Though opinions may differ, and that's ok, it's not difficult to see why this first serial tends to be the more popular FG overall. Comments?
