Author: Prince Barin
Subject: Prince Barin Escapes
I am pleased to announce my escape from Vultan's Furnace Room due to the unexpected help of Officer Torch. Since Officer Torch remains loyal to our evil Emperor Ming I can only imagine that Ming has dastardly plans for me.
I will keep all loyal FG compatriots advised of my plans.

Great news, Barin! I suspect Aura was somehow involved in your escape from the beloved furnace room!

Vultan gave me many tasks in the Furnace Room but I now have some time to once again help FG in his endless mission of defeating Ming.

Barin...this is your Emperor (and father in law) Ming communicating via the new textavisor given to Officer Torch, my loyal soldier. You've apparently one like it to read this message probably given to you by that clever Dr. Zarkov.
Heh, heh, Barin....did you really think YOU escaped? Didn't you perhaps consider I made the way clear having other plans for you? I sense that this Captain Rick may be on your side. He will be interrogated soon for I wish to find to what extent my daughter Aura was involved.
How dare you! Open talk of treason to your Emperor by aiding Flash Gordon in his mission to defeat me! We had an issue recently because of a simple typo. A Sergeant Tim almost received substantial punishment instead of Sergeant Time.
Careful Barin...were it not for my daughter's care for you, you'd have visited the Sacred Dragon long ago. But if you persist defying me or making such remarks in public I will not hesitate giving you 30 days at 24/7 toiling as Sergeant Time. Any questions, Barin?

Ming, I have no questions other than to ask why you continue your attacks on the earth? Flash Gordon, Happy Hapgood and even the Zuggs will never stop until you have been defeated!
I'm well aware that Officer Torch freed me for some self-serving reason of yours, Ming, but I will evade your tricks and confront you in your palace!

Re: Prince Barin Escapes -- High Priest, 03:55:32 03/04/09 Wed [1]
Heh heh! That's what you think, Barin! I will have the Fire Dragon and its kin at my disposal and all the secret tunnels will be booby trapped with unseen and imminent dangers which you have no knowledge of. In the name of Emperor Ming and being his humble servant, I promise you will never make it out alive. Princess Aura will be taken back to the palace once again and you will have lost her as usual. Sergeant Tim will meet with a most unfortunate accident in the process and that will take care of him. Heh heh.

Memo........to Prince Barin
From........MING, EMPEROR OF THE UNIVERSE
cc..High Priest
Officer Torch
Sergeant Tim
Commander Rick
Flash Gordon and Friends
Saturnian Zugg Leader
Barin:
Heh, heh....you've also now heard from the High Priest. It is time you surrender, cease this folly, and report to my palace immediately. I will spare you for Aura's sake...under certain conditions. After debriefing by my royal subject Tarnak, and Sergeant Tim may be called upon to assist, the High Priest will then lecture/teach you (at length) how to be my good, cooperative, royal subject. You will learn or re-learn many lessons Barin, and know you've offended the Zuggs on Saturn.
I am EMPEROR OF THE UNIVERSE...and I emphasize UNIVERSE...which includes planet Saturn, dwelling place of the Zuggs (from Buck Rogers). Your error offended their secret leader, Prime Minister Zugg (Nickname "Zuggy"). We met using time travel(serial crossover)apparatus, and he is hoping I transport you there for incarceration. Heh, I told him I'd think about it. Now...Prince Barin, anything more to say? Regards from your Emperor and Father-in-Law.
PS..My thanks to loyal Officer Torch for texting this memo.

Sergeant Tim, be cautious if you're called upon to assist Tarnak if Barin is debriefed and subsequently turned over to the High Priest for further conditioning.
Seems the priest has an axe to grind with you, or on you! You've been warned. Perhaps something occurred on Mongo during his lecturing? Just be on guard. Being a "newbie" in the palace, I hate to lose potentially good soldiers.
Wait! Problem might be any derogatory remark you made about soiled shoes on your day in dragons lair... perhaps you insulted the High Priest. He values those creatures. I might be able to talk with him though..he owes me a solid.

Re: Prince Barin Escapes -- Sergeant Tim, 19:04:54 03/04/09 Wed [1]
Memo received, Officer Torch, and this Sergeant will exercise great caution, especially considering the High Priest's earlier reference to an unfortunate accident.
While traveling the secret tunnels my uniform will include full body armor worn over heavy Frigia-style long underwear. Additionally, while crossing any light bridges I will wear a pair of Martian Batwings as well as a bungee cord.

Re: Prince Barin Escapes -- Officer Torch, 20:52:28 03/04/09 Wed [1]
Sergeant Tim...a few tips before retiring. That crafty High Priest can sometimes be vague, possibly owing to his frequent use of the sacred gong--so indeed, beware. Know that his remarks can often be subject to interpretation, and his facial expressions can be difficult to judge.
Tip du jour...if you wear full body armor as I do, it can be cumbersome/heavy in battle, overall, and can become noisy/sticky. I'd recommend an oil and grease job every 10 battles or 30 days whichever comes first. A thin coating of light oil on exterior is also beneficial in reducing corrosion, especially in damp/cold environments.
Be careful of falling. It can be tough to get up...you may recall difficulties I experienced while I was on the floor in the lab near Zarkov's invisibility machine when Gordon became visible again....so be careful.
Other tips...avoid Froot of the Doom brand underwear. It's finely woven steel wool, lined but quite uncomfortable. I'd avoid the light bridge entirely...the metal armor is heavy plus creates electrical eddy current problems which may collapse the bridge, and Martian wings cannot withstand the armor weight, nor bungee cords. Take the stairs if you choose full armor.

Aye, and the High Priest's lectures can be difficult to interpret, particularly when mixed with the reverberations of his periodic gong strikes.
The protective armor too weighty for batwings, I had not considered that! No doubt an apt illustration of why I am still a Sergeant.
The advice regarding Froot of the Doom is much appreciated. I have now been debriefed on briefs. Heh.
