Subject: Poll: Ming's "death" in 'Conquers the Universe'

How could Ming possibly die in the final chapter of the 1940 serial? A listing of methods on how he could quickly escape the impending collison with the Solarite ship.

1.) The door is locked to the control tower, as one of his men points out. The use of a ray gun would blast the door open and they would quickly escape to safety.

2.) Ming had a mysterious way of making himself disappear when his life was in extreme danger. Two examples of this are in the 1936 and 1938 serial films.

The screenwriters left a way out for Ming in the 1940 serial for a fourth serial that never materialized. Comments?

Black magic...if he got away in '36 and '38, seems he could do likewise in '40 or whenever for that matter! It's tough killing off pure evil.
Believe a 4th serial was considered but WWII put that aside.
Hey! It's never too late...how about rethinking that FG, but in movie form perhaps again? Or, how about colorizing the beloved serials we presently have. I've seen some of those Harryhaussen works, and they look quite good!
