I remember using Norforms in Rome many years ago. In the very hot summers I always worried about odour during my period and was introduced to Norforms by a friend who worked in the US Embassy. She recommended inserting one first thing in the morning, lying down with a book for half an hour or so with knees raised, then showering as normal. I tried this and found it worked very well - any leakage was presumably washed away by the shower and I felt confident for the whole day.
On returning to UK, I was disappointed to found they were not available, but recently found they were listed by Amazon on their UK website. I ordered some and have used them for the past couple of months at the end of my period, and on a special occasion, I actually inserted one with a tampon during a period. Found they still work as I remembered!
Just wish Amazon (or anyone else) stocked Kotex Security tampons as there is nothing to equal them available here if you have very heavy periods
