Girls, and women today are so incredibly fortunate.
I'm 47. When I got my first yeast infection, Myconazol Nitrate was a new product that had just come on the market.
My mom was always a bit skepitcal of new things, until they had a chance to prove themselves, so she made me treat it the way she had treated it most of her adult life. At least I was able to use Providine Douche Concentrate, which is the synthetic, and less toxic form of iodine! My mother got her first yeast infection befor Providine was widely available, and had to use real Iodine, with all it's potential side effects. The side effects were well known, even then, and Providine was developed to be a less toxic alternative. Even then, at such a young age, nightly Providine douches for a week, with Mom standing over you are no fun at all!

I now keep generic Myconozol Nitrate cream in the medicine cabnet. Both of my twins know where it is, and what it's for. They've both used it several times. It works about 90% of the time. When it doesn't, there are prescription treatments, tha most expensive of which is one pill taken once!!

Fortunately they'll never have to endure what was so normal for us!
