1- In which sections of the article do the authors establish connections between their own study and previously published studies? Where is the establishment of such connections more salient and important? What do you think the function of establishing such connections is?

Authors have established connections among their own studies and previous ones in the following parts of the article: in Introduction section, in Collaborative Writing, in Collaborative Writing with Technology and lasting in Discussion part. However, is the establishment of such connections more salient and important in Discussion part where authors compare their findings with the previous finding studies. At this moment they bring up some propositions and some findings about what have been studied so far and what they have discovered. Thus, they can complement the researches about the nature of collaborative writing process.

2- What is the purpose of the "material and methods" section? What information is provided in this section?
The purpose of the "material and methods" section is understanding students’ collaborative writing behaviour within Web-based word processing. So, authors intend to demonstrate how Students’ activity within their team is, how the students wrote collaboratively within this context in order to gather students’ perceptions of collaborative writing in this environment and their frequency of participation.

3- What is the importance of empirical data and facts for the achievement of the general objectives of the article?

It’s important to demonstrate a scientific behaviour in order to apply the empirical information to the theoretical view and then it’s what will give to this study accuracy, validity and credibility.

4- Concerning this specific sample article, do you think the data and facts presented were sufficient to convince you of the conclusions the authors have proposed? Why?

In part, yes. But I’m afraid. The authors provide numbers and information, however, we need to analyse methods that they have used. In other words, we need to find out if the scientific method has been used properly, so it can guarantee credibility of the results, it means: based in a significant sample generalize the results to a whole population, as scientific method advocates.

5- What is the purpose of the "discussion" section?

Discussion sections is important to face authors’ findings with the currently knowledge already known and related it to positive findings and also emphasizes the negative ones, for example, many aspects that weren’t analysed and probably will foment new studies. Also, in this part authors can theoretically expose their ideas relating it to their findings in order to provide again credibility to their concerns.
