Subject: To all of the contestants that read and or post on this board.

I am a contestant that has been bashed previously. I know that some of my fellow contestants have been involved. It really used to bother me. I wondered what I had ever done to these people that said such awful things about me. These things got to me, my confidence dropped. I didn't have that happiness about me when I competed. I was so worried about who was there competing, what they had said about me, or what was going to be posted. I forgot the real meaning of why I did pageants. To better myself and help others. By letting what people say bother me; I was contradicting everything I started pageants for. I was concerned with other’s opinion of me. I also noticed that the more I was bashed the more I felt the need to defend and be negative. So here I was acting exactly like what made me feel so bad. I have realized that people who bash are not pageant winners. They are not comfortable with themselves. It is just like when we were children. They put people down to make themselves feel better. As for opinions on people posted on here. If you competed against yourself, then you wouldn’t ever be concerned with your competition.

I just want to say that you should always remember that pageants are about YOUR personal best. Not about who wears what, or who has the best body. Go into a pageant with the goal of doing everything you can to prepare yourself. And you will be happy with the outcome. No one knows what the judges’ opinions will be for that day. Go into it and have FUN! Although I know that I might be around some women who have said bad things about me in the past, I will over look it. I will not demean them by acting how they think I am going to. I am going to be me. Which is what you are supposed to be at a pageant. I cannot please everyone, but I can please myself.

To the opinions of clothing, walks, interviews, it is just that someone's opinion. The ONLY opinion that should matter is yours. Please don't change anything about yourself or attire that you like. That is what will carry you through this. In the end if I don't win, I will not be disappointed, because I know that I followed my own drumbeat, and didn't change for someone else.

I look forward to seeing you all there!

Debbie Farmer

Heard that Mrs. Janet is excited about the competition and thinks it is going to be very close but no matter who wins, she feels like she will have a great queen

Good luck to all

I totally agree with this comment from Debbie. Competing is all about your performance. You can't count on a shoe in on any pageant because everyone has a difference of opinion. Competing for me is fun and although people are tired of seeing me competing and think I should give it up I feel it is my decision to keep doing them because I WANT TO. It is fun for me and yes to be honest I get disappointed sometimes when I don't win but I am human. However I don't go on a bashing frenzy because I know I did my best. Pageants are a gamble and if you can't except the competition or the outcome with a little class then it is time you move on and find another hobby.
