This is a touchy subject. But for me (and I am not a judge) age appropriate makeup does not look out of place. I would not be surprised to see a 12 year old (sometimes even a little younger, say 10) wearing light makeup if I saw one in a store. But if I were to see a 3,4,5,etc year old wearing makeup at the local market then I would think I would do a double take. LOL! True though... I may allow my DD to start wearing makeup at an earlier age than someone else. That is where it becomes more opinion.

In all the Natural Contests you usually see age appropriate makeup allowed. What age is appropariate and who decides this? What if some allow makeup when their child is 13? How do we know what ages or how much their judges find appropriate? So, full makeup at 15 is appropriate right? Since most girls wear makeup at 15...

my opinion on makeup. For natural photos, i would not put my DD if under 10 in makeup, maybe clear mascara. Over 10 I would maybe do a lite base or a cover if there is a blemish and lip gloss. Over 13 , light makeup, no thick fake lashes or horrible blue shadow. (

This changes everyday and depends on who you ask and what contest you enter. If the contest says no make-up then even clear mascara is not allowed, even if you tell yourself, noone can see it so it is ok. You really need to email the director and ask, since every contest is different. I have also read that some will mark you down, but not tell you that you broke the rule. So I would email and ask. (
