Subject: This is so hard. because I would just say that she could compete with the makeup on her birthmark in natural contests and pageants, but I know that some moms would call foul and that would be a pain for you, your daughter, and the directors. So, I feel you have to look at it as your child just does not qaulify to be in a completely natural system that has a no-make-up rule, because you choose to let her cover up the birthmark. There are plenty of systems and contest that you can enter. This is my opinion, you may disagree and if you do, I think you should atleast notify the director's and ask them to make an exception, not try and get away with it, because that would be embarassing for you and your dd.
In reply to: 's message, "We've (my husband and I) been letting her cover since she started kindergarten because other kids were picking on her about it (about the size of a bean and on her neck) and began to try to scratch it off. We have spoken to her doctor about removing it but he has suggested that for best results we need to wait until her growth levels off until then there's no problem with covering it up on a regular basis. Since covering she no longer picks at the mark and other kids don't point it out." on 15:52:32 07/31/06 Mon
