Subject: The Bush legal problem in a nutshell
In reply to: TC 's message, "The bushco teams Post-9/11 Memos Are Released..." on 00:07:55 03/03/09 Tue

"Therefore any objections based on the Fourth Amendment’s ban on unreasonable searches are swept away, they said, since any possible privacy offense resulting from such a search is a lesser matter than any injury from deadly force."

This is the crux of Bushco's trampling of the Constitution - no understanding of what it means. For hundreds of years - dating back to the Magna Carta and beyond, people have been fighting and DYING for their freedom. Bushco's limited understanding of what our country stands for is spelled out clearly in the quote above - to Bush, Cheney, Yoo and the other knuckleheads who were destroying America for the last 8 years - it's the exact opposite. They would give up privacy rights (and every other right granted in our Constitution) to (perhaps) save a few people. It sounds cold, but the 3000 people who died on 9/11 are nothing compared to the millions that died in WWII or the 500K that died at Gettysburg defending our freedom. Bushco just doesn't get it.

And btw, that's the GENEROUS explanation for their failure. The cynical explanation would be they're just power mad dictator wannabes.
