Subject: Excuses excuses excuses

You're the perfect example of the "fringie" who can't abide the thought of a Black American in the White House. You would prefer a strutting, chauvinistic, semi-literate ex-frat boy whose life's path was greased by family connections and whose "election" in 2000 was an anomaly, the 1st such ever decided by a 5-to-4 vote in the US Supreme Court.

You long for another war of choice based on a lie, right? Oh, Iraq wasn't based on a lie? Just how, genius, was Saddam going to produce that mushroom cloud over a US city that the Crawford Catastrophe and Condi Rice warned us was in the cards were not Saddam removed? Are you even aware of what it takes to separate uranium isotopes? Evidently not. The combination of physical plant and electrical energy required to do so is huge, readily detectable by US "spook" satellites.

So, "patriot," because of the invasion of a country that posed no threat to the US, over 4,400 American service personnel are dead and more than 30,000 wounded, many of those horribly maimed with lives ruined, all because the Princeling was convinced by a cabal of neo-con war wimps that Saddam had to go. You have heard of the Project for the New American Century, I assume. If you haven't, you did not pay attention during its propaganda full court press in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq.

Among PNAC's signatories to its Statement of Principles who were on TV touting the merits of invading Iraq were Bill Kristol, Frank Gaffney, Dick (Don't be still, my heart) Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz. Wolfowitz submitted a white paper to Poppy Bush in 1992 advocating what the neo-cons were to achieve via Poppy's Bible-thumping son in 2003. Oh, and that war has cost about $1 trillion to date.

But the PNAC-associated BS artists who haunted the cable TV political talk shows before the invasion included these signatories or contributors to other significant letters or reports for PNAC: Elliot Abrams, Ken Adelman, John Bolton, Richard Perle and Daniel Pipes. A bit of research finds that of these, Rumsfeld served in the Navy and Bolton served (conveniently) in the National Guard during Vietnam. None of the others mentioned here ever served in the US armed forces.
