Subject: Forum: an observation

Cuba is a bad commie dictatorship, not because Fidel and Raoul are Marxists, but it's because they are too Marxist. Were they to invite in Genentech and the BofA, they would be transformed over night by the Wall Street Journal and Forbes as enlightened commies and even as closet neo-capitalists.

What China has shown is that Chinese entrepreneurship, once unleashed, needs no Western-style democratic forms and a representative government to become an economic powerhouse. Its prosperity and its position of lender to the US Treasury has permitted us to live as a nation beyond our means for far too long.
