How about this clown running for the senate in West Virginia, one John R Raese, who wants to abolish the minimum wage. Herr Raese never missed a meal in his life, having inherited a fortune. As do so many on the neo-fascist right,he wraps himself in the flag and is a lifetime member of the NRA. However, he adroitly avoided carrying a rifle in the Army or Marines during the Vietnam War.
Recently this holder of a BA in education pontificated that the US needs ASAP 1000 lasers "in the sky" as an ABM defense, and such would cost a mere $20 billion.
Those with no education and experience in the hard sciences can make stupid comments like that and their equally uneducated followers will nod in agreement. The nation may soon be governed by the professionally ignorant.
