LOL, yes, very cheerful! Ah well, you're in the right frame of mind for writing Punch's cousin, which I am very much enjoying. And it's nice to see you posting here again, Jos!

Funny how north of you in the same state, it's been in the triple digits for weeks. Just insufferable. I can't wait for fall (In Texas, that's the three days before winter).
Bertie has taken to wanting, "cool water." Meaning whenever I have a drink of bottled water, he wants it, too. With tail wagging, he waits for me to empty his water bowl and fill it with bottled water. But, no, he's not spoiled.

Spoiled? -- doni, 21:36:10 08/03/10 Tue [1] (adsl-66-143-166-122.dsl.austtx.swbell.net/66.143.166.122)
Never!
Here's my little furchild, Tao 'chilling'.
He's not spoiled either -- He hops right in the fridge, any chance he gets. He's even been known to hop in, without me noticing, until I hear him fully chilled--Of course, then he just wants to cuddle. Weird lil pootie.
OH and if I don't turn on the tap for him to get his water fresh? Items come tumbling off the bathroom counter until I DO.

Very hot this year -- Dolly, 17:29:53 08/02/10 Mon [1] (pool-71-250-6-45.nwrknj.east.verizon.net/71.250.6.45)
It was nice today but it's a rare thing lately. We are going for one of the hottest summers on record in the NY area.

We have lawn seats for a concert tomorrow.... -- Jenn, 21:59:47 08/02/10 Mon [1] (pool-71-170-235-80.dllstx.fios.verizon.net/71.170.235.80)
Concert. Outdoor. August. Texas.
What was I thinking?!

Did you end up going to the concert? It's brutal today. Which concert was it?

Yep. -- Jenn, 11:36:20 08/04/10 Wed [1] (pool-71-170-235-80.dllstx.fios.verizon.net/71.170.235.80)
It was the Aerosmith show at whatever they call Starplex these days. We were able to sit in the shade and it actually wasn't bad out at all. A little sticky, but not painfully hot, amazingly enough. I think having lawn seats helped as opposed to all the people squished in sitting on plastic seats.

Hoooot August night
and when you'd almost bet
you can hear yourself sweat...
He walks in...
One of my favorite Neil Diamond songs.

I like the hot weather! -- francie, 03:18:42 08/03/10 Tue [1] (cpe-184-59-247-90.indy.res.rr.com/184.59.247.90)
I don't like doing anything in it. But I sit on my back porch with my reading and knitting and a big glass of iced tea. I just get too cold in the house with the a/c on. And my guys are running around the house in shorts and t's.

You wouldn't believe it - it's been below average temperature wise for 3 months now. Tons of hail. A thunderstorm almost every day. It snowed in April, May, June AND July. August has only just started. I would like to say that I am quite pissed off. I've never seen weather this bad here, or anywhere.
Enjoy the heat all of you.

What the ... hail? -- doni, 21:47:45 08/03/10 Tue [1] (adsl-66-143-166-122.dsl.austtx.swbell.net/66.143.166.122)
Are you in western, or eastern Canadia? I had no idea there was weather going on like that! Cra-zee!

Western Canada...Alberta to be exact. Saskatchewan (funny word) and Alberta have been poured upon. And now...mosquitoes.
