The Governor hadn't woken my up flying over my house with his helicoptor entourage and then landing at a nearby school softball field to do his press conference. All of my immediate neighbors are staying too (hey, where ya gonna go?) so since misery loves company and all that...

We stocked up on batteries, flashlights, water, canned food and all my meds will last a couple of weeks at least. As long as the dunes hold and the neighbor's trees don't fall on the house, we should be good. My son will probably be working on the EMS task force. They are already on stand-by. I really wish he was going to be working at the police dept because I know I could go there for shelter if I had too. I'm scared. Supposed to be going out for my belated birthday dinner tonight with the family and don't even feel like it. They are saying to go to a relative's house but all of our relatives live in South Jersey, along the shore and are in a worse position than we are. My brother lives in a river flooding zone. Nowhere to hide from this storm.

In Savannah, we've gone through the same scary situation a few times. It sounds like you are well prepared.
Make sure you take insurance documents, photos, etc. and put them in a high place. Not to alarm you but some things just can't be replaced - most of all your lives.
My prayers are with you and your family.
