Subject: Just got power back a few hours ago

Thank God and the power company because it was freezing in my house. I had hot water and gas so could heat canned food and shower. Our house is fine. Had minor roof damage but my nephew fixed it already. Much flooding and total loss on streets around me. Then looting and burglaries by the scum of the earth that apparently are everywhere. Glad I have big dogs. I pray for the people who lost everything. Some people in the next town over were killed, either by the storm surge or by generators. The National Guard is here. I have never seen anything like it and hope to never see it again in my lifetime.

I have been up close to a tornado and an earthquake, I do not want hurricane added to the list.

I am still praying it will head east. No room at the school for any more refugees. It was originally only a drop off point, now housing over 500 people who lost everything. The one firehouse we have left is housing 48 EMS, firemen and cops who have lost their homes as well. My son is working the county task force tonight. We have cops from as far away as Texas here, along with state and county cops. It's like the Twilight Zone. I never wanted to own a gun before last week.
