Subject: All the flooding you see on TV is from rivers that usually flood during any bad storms or in the spring after a lot of snow

We were under a mnadatory evacuation but my husband decided to stay so I had to as well. We were fine thanks to our mayor, police and all the other workers and volunteers in this town, staying on top of everything and going above and beyond. It was an all hands on deck storm for sure. My son Dave and all the other volunteer Firefighters and EMS workers, were stationed in the firehouse on highest ground. Their power went and and they had to use generators and the firehouse eventually turned into an island but when fire or rescue was needed, and it was, they did it. They had to use the fire engines for EMS once the water got too high, then drove victims to a non flooded area where an ambulance awaited to get the to the hospital. When a tree fell, as long as electical wires were not involved, it was moved immediately if it was blocking a road. We had police patrols every half hour throughout all the neighborhoods. My biggest worry was that my next door neighbor's trees would fall on our house but TG that didn't happen. The other worry was that the storm was approaching along with astronomical high tides due to the new moon. One of the sand berms at the beach breached but road dept. was right there to bring in momre sand and shore it up. There are parts of town that usually flood in high tides and bad storms and they were flooded just a bit worse on Sunday. Better to live here than by a river though. At least once the tide comes in, it goes back out and we are done.
