Subject: If you have a moment to send healing thoughts ...

My nephew Darren called me this afternoon (a total rarity), his Grandma Lumania (my Nancy's Mom) passed away this afternoon. She wasn't feeling feel & had trouble breathing. Darren called her docs they said to call 911, so he did. As Darren said, the EMTs lazily checked Lumania, she then had a heart attack in front of them & she passed away on the way to the hospital, which was less than 10 minutes away. Darren called me from the ER while still talking to doctors, trying to find a way to get a hold of his sister Anastasia and his little brothers. I still am trying to get a hold of Anastasia, who will be totally devistated.

Lumania was a character, went to Mass daily if she could, made killer gumbo or a hi-ball. Lu really swallowed her pride after Nancy died in order to see the little boys (even went to my brother's girlfriend's house for Mothers' Day just to see them). Lu was really good to me after Nancy died. She understood how difficult it was for me to go to her house because I always got emotional, missing Nancy. Lu would hug me motheringly and tell me she understood how much Nancy & I meant to each other.

Rest in peace, Lu -Edgar & Nancy have been waiting for you.
