It was our annual date with Dad so everyone was at Mom and Dad's before we left for the dinner theater. It kills me that my sister is so excited. I never imagined she'd react this way.

Anyway, I guess I feel a little better in some ways. My taste buds are still screwed up. I'm getting fat! I'm only 10 weeks and my gut sticks out now. I haven't out grown my clothes or anything but I can tell a difference.

I'm dying to start decorating the baby's room but I can't. I don't know what color to paint it yet. So, I started working on our sun room instead. It was next on my list of projects anyway. Know anything about texturing walls? The walls are in bad shape so after I get finished screwing around with this stinking joint compound, I'm planning to try texturing to hind my crappy patch work.

Texturing walls is a pain, both the first time and for subsequent painting jobs. Better off getting someone to patch - we have plaster everywhere and have had to patch on occasion since the first major one when we took down the wall to wall wallpaper in our house, but still prefer that to texture.

You're not fat. That's a new little one in there just showing everyone they're on their way!

granted it was not a very big room, but it turned out very nice. She painted, then while it was wet, crinkled up tissue paper then spread it flat again and stuck it to the wet paint. Let it dry really well and then paint over the tissue paper. It ended up looking like a leather/suede finish.

Do NOT use the paintable wallpaper. I used that in my kitchen (because after 3 layers of wallpaper I could not get the rest off of 2 walls.) It got very soggy with the paint, didn't take the color well and the texture on it still rubs off easily 8 years later.
