Subject: This story about a woman coming to a policman's aid is so cool

http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/12/16/ohio.police.vigiliante/index.html?hpt=T2

This happened in Dayton, a city about 25 miles from me. The policecam video has been shown on tv several times.

They interviewed this lady. She was arrested at 18 for felonious assault. She apparently has been in jail a few times. She said her last time in, it finally clicked and she decided it was time to turn her life around. She would like to go to school to study nursing. I'm not sure what she is doing now. She sounded so humble on tv and cried while talking about her past and how it led her to know she had to help the cop.

This is such a heartwarming story.

It would be one thing (still heroic) to be walking by and stop to help. But an unarmed woman pulling over and getting out of her car is unheard of. Good for her; I hope she realizes her dream of becoming a nurse. I bet after this the scholarship offers will be flooding in. : )

Also, did you see the lady hit the guy holding the gun on the school board? She came up behind him and whacked him with her purse. I'm sure the video is online somewhere.

They were going to auction the purse off on E-Bay and give the money to the charity that the Safety Office at the school is involved with. (Whew...what a run on sentence.) Anyway, E-Bay pulled the auction for some reason. I think that lady was very lucky that she didn't get shot.
