It's a baby boy! So far, he looks great -- he's measuring 3-5 days ahead in terms of size so he's a big boy. There are a few potential complications, but nothing we need to worry about until a couple more months have gone by. We have a good team of high risk doctors monitoring us, which gives me peace of mind. And I'm more than halfway through the pregnancy!

I'm headed back to DC tomorrow to visit with family. That should be pretty fun -- I'm excited to show my grandmother my baby belly. She's been asking about it. :)

Having doctors you are comfortable with makes a world of difference.

Have fun in DC. I bet your grandmother will be thrilled.

whether I've got a boy or girl here. It still seems so unreal!! I haven't been sick at all and I'm nine weeks now. It's about 3 weeks until I see the doctor and we should get to hear the heartbeat then. We told our families over the past weekend. My mom yelled. His mom yelled. My sister has bought a gift for the baby already. She's also asking if I want this or that of her baby stuff. I don't know! It's all so much to think about and it just seems so far away and sort of impossible. Is that weird?

Hearing the heartbeat for the first time is incredible. I can't wait until you hear it. I think we heard ours at 10 weeks (the one perk to high risk is lots of appointments). Once we heard it at the doctor's, we bought a home Doppler on Amazon and now we listen at home at least once a week.

I'm also glad that you haven't had any sickness. That's fantastic!

And didn't get nauseous at all until shortly after that, only if I smelled food early in the a.m. :) Never puked...was just verryyyyy tired in the 1st trimester. All full of energy and VERY FRISKY (as Marion Cunningham would say) and hungry in the 2nd trimester. Don't remember the 3rd trimester much except I was just starting to feel his feet poking my ribs and oopsie... told him to come out and play.. AND HE DID! Don't tempt them, ladies! Let 'em cook all the way! :)

I remember when hubs got bags of boy clothes from a lady at work, on up to like 3T and once M@ got here those looked huge! But it was SO great to have a little of everything for a while. Sure, we got some clothes that we wanted, too, but he was such a drooler it really helped to have all kinds of backup stuff. And any other stuff people are willing to 'donate', go for it; you can always pass it on or give it back if you choose not to use it, plus the little ones are only likely to stain things a little vs. wear anything out so usually it's almost good as new (pumpkin seats, strollers, etc.) Take what you can and decide later!
